My Amal Journey⭐

Time moves in one direction, so we can’t really predict things. But we are able to understand them in hindsight. Opportunities were made possible for you by being in the right place at the right time.

Do you ever get grumpy at home after a long day at work?😌

After dealing with all of the challenges of a day’s work, many of us have very little energy left. It’s so easy to leave work and come home physically but be mentally and emotionally absent. You are physically at home, but you are still thinking and stressing about the problems of the day or the problems of tomorrow. What it takes to be successful in one task may spell disaster in another💯

Zero to Hero🐱‍🏍

So, to manage these stressors I would recommend a powerful process… it’s called positive Reflection😃

Follow these two steps:

1️⃣ Reflect- Ask yourself, what went well today.

2️⃣ Refocus- Ask yourself what you need to change and what part of you needs to come out.

Amal career prep Fellowship did an outstanding job at refining our positive reflection process. When I joined Amal Academy, I had no clue how much I’d learn from the Amal Academy experience over the next few months. But sadly, when it's all coming to an end, I can proudly say this was the best experience of my life. The diverse amount of people with different backgrounds and cultures always fascinated me. This diversity enabled me not only to learn new things on a daily basis but also to boost my understanding of the various fields via the group discussions at the Amal Academy.

Through the application of Amal tips and rules, I was able to improve on astronomical levels. This was a lot more than I expected and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a noble cause J There’s a lot of things we should be grateful for in our daily lives, but often we don’t express gratitude. In Amal, they taught us to be grateful for the small things in life.

Amal helped me a lot in learning skills and essential life lessons.

· Knowing yourself

· Smart goals

· Gratitude

· Leadership

· Ek aur ek gyara (team work)

· Career Development

Professional tools such as

· Superhero Resume

· Super partner Cover letter

· Badass LinkedIn profile

· Elevator pitch

· How to nail the interviews

Prior to the Amal fellowship, I had mediocre-level professional skills. I've always been a shy person. This has always held me down whenever I wanted to express my true self. I really wanted to open up and express myself freely. Covid-19 also had a negative impact on my social life. I was restrained to my bedroom. That’s where Amal stepped in and gave me the strength, I needed to be my better self.

Having those sessions and expressing ourselves in the most comfortable way possible, sharing our thoughts, listening to others' perspectives. I still remember every bit of my first session. There was this hope and positivity that change is just around the corner. It's only a matter of time that I’d be the person, I have always wanted to be💖

First session😍

Amal made me realize that there are little things in life that we take for granted. Taking the initiative and doing the right thing. Because it is a historical fact that you and I have a problem doing the right thing, for others and for ourselves. Yet, we deny it fiercely or wallow in shame, neither of which God wants for us.

Amal really brought out the skills I thought I never had, dividing us into breakout rooms and assigning us problems/case studies, so we can come up with solutions. We use the skills of critical thinking and teamwork. I am more optimistic now and my communication skills have drastically improved. I will keep refining my leadership, communication and teamwork skills to make them top-notch

Random acts of kindness😊

Working on activities such as 5 random acts of kindness and fixing stuff around yourself brought the best out of me. felt really productive and accomplished after completing these activities. My best time from this fellowship includes weekend sessions, circle meetings, 5 random acts of kindness activity (which I liked a lot and had fun doing), Lums case study because we had an awesome debate on it. I wish I could rewind and live in each moment again. I guess sometimes you have to look back in order to understand the things that lie ahead.

Beautiful people🥰

Last but not least we got the facilitators who were out of this world. They really went all in, in guiding us and making sure that we do our best. There’s nothing not to love about them.

Thank you for sharing your priceless gifts of affection, time, and talent. Without your relentless efforts, we wouldn’t have been what we are today. I can’t find words that would justify my gratitude. Without your daunting efforts, I could never have made it. Thank you, Mam Huda Khan and Sir Zeeshan Ghazi💕
