Doctor on go

So the perk of being an Amal career prep fellowship fellow is that we get really fun assignments every week. So this time I get to write about the project that I had in mind. There is a lot to be fixed in our surroundings but what I thought was during when I had hepatitis. I had a recurrent fever, body aches, nausea, and insomnia. Visited some doctors but they only came to the conclusion that I had either typhoid or malaria, without even testing me!!!

I started searching for my symptoms online and found a diagnostic service call Symptomate. You enter your symptoms and it asks you some related questions and runs it differential diagnostics and it came to the conclusion that I either had Hepatitis or Fatty liver disease and told me to visit a Gastroenterologist or Hepatologist, turns out when I got tested I had hepatitis.

So I thought maybe there should be an app/service in Pakistan too with similar services.

Problem Statement:

With the world changing so rapidly and the number of toxins and contamination, we face a new type of disease every day. But the amount of knowledge the general public has about diseases/illness and doctors remains inadequate. They don't know what doctor to visit, there are appointment problems, extra time consumption, you don't know who specializes, and confidentiality issues.

Pitch:

Develop an app where doctors can be registered district-wise. anyone can download the app and can set up an account. A person can make an appointment with his desired doctor, then he can visit the doctor in person or can have a checkup virtually. This will help people to contact relevant doctors on the basis of diagnosis ran by the app.

Industry outlook:

Services provided:

I asked some people about the problems they faced and then I told them about the idea got their opinions.

Ahsan Ali told me “ so I think the app would do great and finding the right doctor is always hard and the thing you told that we could look up the symptoms and its relating disease, are really good”

Aman Ullah says “ I have mixed thought about this since that's not how things work in Pakistan and it would be something new. But Pakistanis are totally gonna love this as it would be easier to consult doctors from the comfort of their houses and the people who hate going to the doctor will be really excited about this one”

Muhammad Suffyan says, “ I've always hated going to the doctor and I've always thought what would it be like to consult one online. To be honest it's really tough to find a relevant doctor in our region and getting in touch with a doctor in the comfort of your house would be fun. Acha lagay ga yaar agr yeah kaam implement ho jaye.”

So that's all folks😊
